We are seeing considerable development on the property located at 26 Lendon Main. The foundation looks like it went in very well. It seems like the next logical step will be the addition of building lines and the floor followed closely by the building framework. We'll continue to to keep a close eye on it and bring you pictures as quickly as possible.
My personal views and pictures of the Lendon development happening in Jones Valley. My blog is solely run and maintained personally by me and does not in any way express the official opinions of LENDON Development, Huntsville, Alabama.

Construction is underway!
This may be the day that we have all been waiting for! We are pleased to be able to announce that construction on the first plot is officially underway. There is a building permit posted and concrete has been poured into a foundation trench. You will notice in the pictures that there are several cinder blocks which will be added next, along with a few two by fours. Certainly more lumber is on the way but it is not on site yet. We are very excited to see these buildings start to take shape and watch Lendon grow into the beautiful community that we are all so eager to enjoy. Here are some pictures of the construction at the first plot. I have also included a few pictures of the development around the canal promenade where the sidewalks are being extended and the bed has been excavated.

A fine August day at Lendon
The progress being made on the Lendon properties is a bit subtle if you're looking from a distance. Things like the sidewalks, property lines, and the roads can be a bit hard to see without a close drive by. Here are a few pictures from the Jones Farm Park. I'll get some closeups soon so you can see better. We are still excited to find out exactly what improvements are being made to the walking track. So far we see new dirt added around the far side of the ponds that leads back to the parking lot. We suspect that this will be paved and become a new segment to walk. We'll keep you updated as we get more information!

Pink Skies over Lendon
I came across a good opportunity to take some cool pics here at Lendon which included a nice background of the pink sky provided by mother nature. I also snapped a few shots of the new work around the ponds as well as some of the continued roadside work. I hope you enjoy!

New home construction will begin at LENDON this month!
The moment we have all been waiting for is upon us! We have confirmation that the Huntsville City Council has approved LENDON’s final plan which divides the development area into lots, shows boundary lines, streets, actual measurements, etc.. Now that the plan has been approved construction of the buildings is imminent. In the meantime, there has been a new silt fence put up around the ponds all the way from the Jones farm park parking lot to the walking path bridge that goes over the canal promenade. I am not sure exactly what is happening here, although it looks like there is a possibility of the walking path being expanded to the other side of the ponds. How cool would that be? I took a few pictures of the area with the silt fence but more importantly, I did a drive through of the Lendon roads. Check out this short three minute video to see what the new roads and current development look like. Lendon is taking shape quickly, don't blink or you might miss some exciting new development!

Lendon June updates and a rainbow!
We are pleased to report that all of the roads in the Phase I area seem to be paved as you will notice in the pictures. You will also find that many of the trees have found their way around the newly paved roads which is starting to give the development more of a community feel every day. Of course work is continuing on the rest of the development, much of which pictures can't really capture, for example all of the drainage and utility pipes have been successfully installed. A huge plus, but little to see above ground. I hope you enjoy the pictures, see if you can find the rainbow in a picture or two.

How did Lendon hold up to the heavy rain and flash flooding in Huntsville
Over the weekend you may have noticed the flash flood warnings and wondered how Lendon held up. Good news! The drainage system throughout the development area worked perfectly! All of the water drained as should be expected and there was no unexpected standing water. Here are a few pictures the morning after the flash flood warnings and heavy rainfall. Also notice that the asphalt is down on some of the streets, how cool is that? Any guesses what's next? Street signs? Lights? Buildings? We're all looking forward to the new community and I'll keep bringing you pictures so you can follow this exciting development!
